You must increase your PR to increase your Google/Yahoo Rankings.

Getting backlinks (links to your site from others) is necessary to increase your Page Rank in the long term. Robots are quite busy; so it is useful to have a page listing all your backlinks to tell them what pages they should analyse. I highly recommend to dedicate one page of your site to list the pages linking to your page

Another way to build back-links is by using a reciprocal Link Building method. Contact vendors in industries around you and try to exchange links with them (You post mine if I post yours)

Another way to increase PR is to submit your website to as many web directories as possible. Each search engine has its own directory. Make sure you add yourself to each search engines directory.

By publishing articles you can also increase your PR rating. There are many websites which will allow you to post freely. First find a topic that is important, not only to you, but with regards to your industry.

In addition to the above methods, Blog submission can be very helpful in increasing PR. Blogs typically have a higher web traffic rate than other websites. The more that Google or Yahoo see your link within popular websites, the faster your websites PR rating will increase!

Finally, get a tracker on your website; Trackers also allow a better understanding of your visitors: you may know the referring link, the keyword used in the search engine and much more.
