Holiday parties can be indoors, outdoors, in rented halls, on private yachts or just about anywhere that people congregate. Things always go better when decorations and paper party goods are carefully chosen to represent the holiday and provide ease of entertaining.
Every civilization in history has assigned special significance to at least a few of these on a regular basis from the time that calendars were invented. People just seem to need to have holiday celebrations that commemorate events and persons of importance to the group.
Hence as soon as holiday celebrations were invented the holiday feast developed soon afterward. Then time off from work and eventually paid holiday schedules were demanded and that's the way things have stayed ever since. Now nothing on the holiday calendar is safe from the holiday party.
Sweetest Day, Secretary's Day, Grandparents' Day, or even Boss's Day are all celebrated in at least some traditional holiday parties. These parties take very similar forms regardless of which culture or holiday is under consideration. No one is likely to exit without a good laugh after a good, well planned party.
Here are a few elements of the great party:
• Invitations must be sent in approximately two weeks time frame from the date of the intended event.
• Decorations and paper party goods are to be purchased and appropriately placed in order to optimize the best aspects of the holiday to be celebrated.
• Food! Is always of optimal concern in order to provide the best opportunity to show a high degree of respect for the person or event to be celebrated.
• Games and entertainment are to be carefully planned and organized for the best potential enjoyment of every guest on the guest list.
Follow these simple rules and fun will be had by all!

Holiday Parties in History

Hippies Will Enjoy a Retro Party Theme
They might live in the suburbs disguised as accountants and stock brokers but they were once hippies. A retro themed party is sure to bring a smile to the face of any all grown up flower child. It seems highly unlikely that these upstanding citizens were once the scruffy problems of an earlier generation nevertheless it's true.
What better way to remind aging hippies of that by gone era than the music and colorful images of the past. Tie-dyed t-shirts, bell bottomed pants and posters with peace symbols are all that's needed to evoke the mental images of the past.
While day-glow colors are perfect to brighten the occasion, there are few bakeries which can duplicate these in cake icing. It may be necessary to use plastic cake decorations to reproduce the electric colors that typified the era. Orange may have been the most eye-popping of these!
Use a home scanner to make computer reproductions of favorite photos of the guest of honor wearing his best Sixties apparel. Maybe a bit embarrassing to some but a shining example of the stories they are always telling the youngsters for others.
Paper party goods should make the hippie themed party a little easier to clean up after and reflect the decorating theme. Try to find bright festive colors for all of the table settings and even the plastic flatware. No minimalism allowed!
Don't take nostalgia too far though as there are plenty of things about the present that can be drawn upon to further the festive moods. When younger guests seem to be growing tired of listening to elder-rock then its okay to turn the music over to a newer popular form! If they seem a little uncomfortable in retro garb its time to open up the pool or other entertainment option.

Happy Face Parties Still Make Us Smile
The sunshine yellow of the happy face paper party goods are still the cheery symbol of all that's right in the world. These beautiful reminders to keep smiling do indeed brighten the table setting of most non-holiday parties.
A birthday, promotion at work, or just a group meeting can be more festive with these paper party goods to cheer us on. It's even better when used together with the pastel paper goods left over from Easter parties. Try using the pink and lavender napkins together with the happy face paper plates and tablecloth to get a little more mileage out of those after-Easter clearance items. The pastel foil colored candies still make great party treats even though they are marked half price the day after a holiday.
Since yellow is a primary color, red or blue napkins left from Independence Day can be used with them to decorate in late summer. A pool party or cook out is enough reason to add a little decorative touch to the picnic table. Those enormous sunflowers that were planted to the side of the house will add just the right background for this summer like table setting.
These happy face paper party goods really are great for any season and can be mixed with the solid orange and brown paper goods sold to decorate the autumn table. When used with browns these yellow and orange decorations are more festive than at any other time of year.
If children are invited it might be nice to organize some relays or yard games and give happy face stickers out to the winners. Another sunny idea is to decorate small bags with happy face stickers and fill each with candies or simple toys to use as favors. With names lettered on the side they become place-cards.

Hurrah! It's Graduation Time
Hurrah! Its graduation time and one of life's most jubilant occasions nears. No matter whom it is whether they are related, friends or complete strangers; we want to pat them on the back at graduation.
The class of 1957 still remembers that momentous occasion and one day the class of 2007 will be celebrating their 50th year reunion! Make some memories to last a lifetime with a festive graduation party or dinner. Take lots of pictures and put together a scrapbook that will jog their memories or just pass on the information to future generations.
Graduation paper party goods are the best way to decorate for this hybrid party: part formal, part informal. Guests are likely to be bouncing off the walls excited but still wearing new graduation garb so this is really a mixed bag from an entertaining standpoint. These festivities are likely to go on for the majority of the day so its best to make the kinds of party plans that keep fresh for long hours.
For instance, there are often early morning commencement ceremonies that are followed by a series of party hopping type activities. Even when commencement is in the afternoon there can be team breakfasts or other early day activities to stretch the day. It's best to have all foods and decorations assembled and ready to go because there simply won't be any preparation time available on graduation day.
If graduation day is during the warm months which it usually but not always is, then the foods and refreshments should be in keeping with refrigeration limitations. Jelly molds and ice cream cakes can melt while fresh fruits and vegetables will wilt when there isn't adequate refrigeration. Take time to clean out the refrigerator a week early in order to keep cool on graduation day.

Fiesta Parties for All Seasons
Many of us associate fiesta parties with the celebration of Cinco de Mayo -- Mexico's Independence Day. This is not the only time when the lively rhythms of mariachi bands and the colorful paper decorations of fiesta are welcome. A fiesta can brighten anyone's mood on a cloudy day or reflect the wonderful weather on a sunny summer evening.
One of the best uses of fiesta paper party goods might be to decorate any sort of dinner party during the coldest and most dismal winter weather. Have lots of salsa in a variety of hot, medium and mild recipes to serve with bowls of tortilla chips. Serve piping hot casserole dishes of enchiladas or taco bakes. Frijoles and Spanish rice are natural and expected side dishes for fiesta parties Make a burrito bar with all possible favorite ingredients and fill large condiment bowls with shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, onion, sour cream and cheddar cheese for toppings. If that's not enough food then try finding a recipe for soppipias or fried ice cream for desert.
It might be best for a more formal fiesta dinner party to pull out all the stops and consult with a Mexican cook book for less Americanized recipes. Use good colorful dinnerware for the main meal and use the fiesta themed paper party goods to serve desert with coffee or hot chocolate. Paper goods will also do nicely for leftovers after the dinner has adjourned to a game or television room.
Fiestas for warm weather gathering can take advantage of gardening features like ponds to float candles or grape arbors for paper streamers and flowers. When children are present a carefully supervised piƱata game can add just the right festive element.
Anytime at all, birthdays, engagements or promotions can all be celebrated with the fiesta party.

Elvis and the Golden Age of Rock and Roll Party
Tuesday, April 17, 2007Elvis themed paper party goods can be popular retro-themes for many occasions honoring people aged eight to eighty. What's really fun is to combine the rock and roll theme with one of the settings of his comedy movies. Rock around the clock, Jail house blues or blue Hawaii themes then take the Elvis memorabilia to a new decorating plane.
Probably the best of these possible decorating themes would be an Elvis in Hawaii Luau/ beach party. This hybrid theme allows the host or hostess to draw from a lot of different sources for both paper party goods as well as games and menu ideas.
While the 50's era diner and rock-and-roll jukebox will be the simplified party theme there are also lots of Hawaiian Luau decorating ideas. The jailhouse rock Elvis party can feature a menu of bread and water. Better make than toasted bread cubes served with spinach dip in a hollowed out round bread loaf though. It wouldn't hurt matters if the water was one of those more expensive bottled varieties though. The color scheme for table cloths and centerpiece might be the basic black and white stripe. This might be a fun card party or other simple occasion.
By contrast the Elvis Hawaiian Luau party menu can be very elaborate and even include the whole hog roast of traditional island fare. These cooking instructions are very involved and require a lot of preparation but will create a memorable occasion. A simplified version of luau pork is probably available from a local restaurant for carry out. Order ahead and have an accurate head count so that guests will not be slighted on the main course.
Regardless of which kind of main dish -- whether pork or king crab -- always add tropical fruit dishes and pineapple is expected.

Dance Parties for Active Guests
If the guest list for an upcoming birthday, engagement or any social occasion is the sort that just can't seem to sit still then a dance party might suit them. Paper party goods with the favorite dance theme can reflect well on a hostess who wants to throw a party with more than sedentary prospects.
Any kind of music and dance is just the right entertainment to keep guests from getting bored with an otherwise dull party. Dances from the bunny hop to the latest club scene gyrations are fine as long as most of the guests enjoy the chosen musical format. When the guest list is varied, as with birthday parties for young children, then choosing the right dance form can be trickier. Finding music and dance that is mild enough for children without being boring for teens is a skill. Develop the DJ within and plan for that special occasion.
Dance parties will require lots of cold beverages as there will be thirsty dancers. The traditional high school dance once had a glass punch bowl full of cold refreshments. The bowl might be okay but glass cups can be a needless hassle and there's never enough with the standard set. It's still best to buy dance themed paper cups and napkins even when using the punch bowl.
For a dance party it is best to keep the foods fairly simple. Hors d'oeurves or cookies served on small dance themed paper plates and cocktail napkins are probably all that anyone will want to eat. A few vegetable or cheese platters will make a nice addition to these and canned beverages kept on ice would be convenient.
Assign someone to the job of maintaining the CD's and stereo equipment if a band or DJ aren't hired. Then dance until dawn!

Circus Clowns Themed Parties for All Ages
Circus clown paper party goods are just the right touch for many different parties. Add animal crackers and stuffed exotic animals to brighten a first birthday. Use an antique calliope and circus wagons for unique parties with live circus clowns.
Parties big and small can use circus clowns in their many different manifestations to create a memorable day. Whether pony rides are in the budget or just another day on the farm they might make light entertainment for elementary school aged kids. Maybe other field animals can lend themselves to the circus if they are in the mood to pose for farm kids circus party pictures. Emus or goats will bring a smile to the faces of kids who don't live on a farm.
But for many the circus atmosphere will need to be created in a neighborhood which brags of no animals larger than the family golden retriever. If he knows any tricks then he gets top billing.
Kids might enjoy making up their own circus acts or dressing as circus clowns. Rainbow fright wigs and red ball stick on noses with simple costumes make perfect circus costumes for amateur performances. Little kids could use card board boxes to make their own circus train with some additional construction paper and glitter.
If the party is outdoors in warm weather then fair food can be set up and served on matching circus clowns paper party goods. Kettle corn is easy to prepare at home. Snow cone makers can provide the popular fair treat. Funnel cakes and candied apples round out the sugary treat list. For a main dish why not make hot dogs or brats? Whichever main dish is chosen there should always be plenty of French fries and onion rings to be served on Circus clowns paper party goods.

Class Reunion Party Planning
Much of a class reunion success relies on how well the departing class prepared before graduation. If class records were well documented then class reunion invitations go out more smoothly. If class pictures were well preserved then photo presentation can be prepared more easily for the class reunion. When a conscientious class president is elected then the class reunion is more likely to be planned and hosted.
The time to prepare for the perfect class reunion is before graduation. If like many of us those ducks weren't in a row we find organizing a simple class reunion to be a real head ache. Unfortunately, the task of finding people with whom the class has lost contact is the most troublesome. When families have moved from the area this task can be nearly impossible.
There are a few online sources which can help with this effort. Try just entering names of graduates into the search engine. Often addresses and phone numbers are readily available. Sometimes email addresses can be found on the internet too.
When trying to gather information to fill in information about the class since graduation, prepare a questionnaire. This is best e-mailed but ordinary mail will work well enough too. When enough questionnaires are returned arrange the information in a readable format with photos where they have been made available.
Renting a hall and hiring a caterer may be the most difficult tasks in planning a class reunion but there may be others. In some affluent areas it may be expected that the organizers of a class reunion contract a block of rooms for out of town guests to use. This helps since hotels book up quickly in many areas. It may be possible to rent a hotels' conference or party facilities and extend room discounts to classmates.

A Magical Tinkerbell Party
We all know that cute fairy with an attitude called Tinkerbell from the Peter Pan story. There have been books, cartoons, movies and all kinds of Peter Pan spinoffs that successive generations of kids can enjoy. So it’s no small wonder that the Tinkerbell party is so popular amongst the kids and maybe a few adults too!
To make a magical tinkerbell party you’ll want to add a bit of glitz and glam to the Tinkerbell party supplies you order. You can have the party at night and make extensive use of glow sticks for the party. Kids love them and they seem to work practically like magic anyway. Order up or pick up a lot of green balloons and some mini glow sticks that are about one and a half inches long. When you blow up each of the balloons crack a mini glow stick and slide it inside the balloon before you tie it. Scatter these cool looking balloons around the party area for a lighted effect. To make the most of your glow stick party balloons you’ll need to blow them up just before the party starts.
You can also hang some green, silver or gold metallic dangles from the ceiling in the party area. Kids love the way they reflect the light and you’ll appreciate how they add so much to the ceiling area.
Since this is a magical Tinkerbell party you’ll want to get some magic themed party favors for the kids. This includes simple wands, card decks, glow stick pendants and of course you’ll need some fun Tinkerbell stickers and temporary tattoos. If there are a lot of girls at the party you’ll find that anything with glitter on it will go over well.
Don’t forget to get those Tinkerbell themed paper supplies in the form of paper plates, cups, napkins, and tablecloths.

That's So Raven Party Tips and Planning
Monday, April 16, 2007Those parents with elementary and middle school aged kids will have probably heard of the television show, that’s So Raven. This fun live action show is great for the kids and approved by lots of parents. So, you’ll have no problem finding plenty of party supplies to get a That’s So Raven themed party going.
This party is for the kids so you can have all the fun kid stuff at the party that you want and the guests will love you for it. In addition to That’s So Raven paper goods like tablecloths, cups, plates, and napkins you’ll need wall hangings, party favors, food, entertainment and various decorative accents.
Wall hangings can be posters from the That’s so Raven show. The added benefit of this is that your kids can keep the posters up in their rooms after the party ends. You can also order wall murals to paste up on the walls. There may not be any themed after That’s So Raven but you can add a mural with party imagery, such as a room full of guests or you can just add something nice like a magical forest scene.
Party favors for the That’s So Raven Party can be stickers, buttons, and temporary tattoos themed after the television show. Or you can use some cool items like colored feather boas and plastic party hats.
Food and entertainment? Well just think about what kids the ages of your guests like. Easy to pop in the oven items like pizza and French fries make for great party foods. Entertainment can be DVD’s of That’s So Raven for the kids to watch.
Additional decoration at this party is a great way to set the atmosphere. Add a touch of glitter to the area with confetti sprinkled across the buffet table. Or get some large clear balloons and fill them with curled ribbon when you blow them up. So get out there and start planning!

A Dinosaur Party Dig!
Dinosaur parties are extremely popular amongst the kids. Almost everyone goes through a period when they want to become a scientist when they grow up, sometimes those phases turn into lifelong dreams so you can really encourage your child’s interest by throwing them a Dinosaur themed party. Better yet, you can make this dinosaur party a scavenger hunt by having the kids go out and dig for candy or toys!
Make sure you have the proper supplies for your dinosaur party. That means lots of tablecloths, paper plates, napkins and plastic utensils for eating off of. You’ll find that just these supplies add to the festive atmosphere quite a bit.
Next, rather than giving the kid’s party favors when they arrive take these prizes and mix them into a sand box. If you are concerned about keeping prizes sanitary or want to give candy but are concerned about sand getting into the wrapping you can place the prizes into small plastic baggies to keep them clean and protected.
Be certain to have enough on hand for everyone to get a baggie of prizes. You can ensure that the kids each get their fair share by limiting them to digging up one or two baggies of prizes. Then once they reach their limit they step out of the sand box or ‘dig site’ and go enjoy some other fun stuff at the party.
Sometimes the occasional child will go through the sandbox again and again but to no avail. Usually this means that there aren’t anymore prizes in the box. Maybe you miscounted, maybe someone brought an extra child or maybe even one of the kids decided to take more than their fair share. Whatever the case you’ll need to keep a few extra bags of treats back so you can add them to an empty ‘dig site’ if that does happen.
Making up a fun dinosaur prize dig for the kids at your party can be a great way for them to pass the time.

Betty Boop Fun for the Kids!
Lots of people choose to throw a Betty Boop Party for an adult party, but you can certainly use this classic cartoon character to create a fun party for the kids, especially if they love classic cartoons.
You’ll be able to find plenty of Betty Boop party supplies to help make your party classic. Since Betty Boop was created during the black and white era of cartoons you can use this same monochromatic theme in your decorations. Make use of black streamers, white tablecloths, and of course grey balloons. Of course you’ll probably be able to find some Betty Boop themed paper supplies, such as tablecloths so look for those before you move to using the monochromatic theme.
The kids will love it if you manage to find some Betty Boop themed party favors like stickers, pencils and temporary tattoos, but you can also look into some more unusual items like fun feather boas, glittered hats and sunglasses.
To entertain everybody play some Betty Boop cartoons in the background and start up a fun card game. After all Betty came from the era of guys and dolls. You can make this age appropriate by playing something simple like Go Fish or Rummy and then give prizes to the winning teams.
Prizes can be anything but I suggest some candy. They are easy to play with and the individually wrapped pieces make good ‘betting chips’ for the kids to use.
Add a little extra decorative accent to the party by bringing in some fun inflatable instruments. Some of the earlier Betty Boop cartoons were mostly covered with music so you can use inflatable guitars and simple drums and tambourines in the party area to get that element of the Betty Boop cartoon into play. You can even find mini tambourines and maracas to give to the kids as party favors if you like.
Follow these suggestions and you are sure to have a great Betty Boop themed party for the kids. Go ahead and get planning!

A Cabbage Patch Kids Birthday, Tea Party and Easter!
The Cabbage Patch Kids are lovable stuffed dolls that kids can ‘adopt’ and bring home. It is a great idea started in the 80s that really took off, then died down a bit during the 90s and is slowly gaining fans again as a classic toy. As a result parents who grew up with the Cabbage Patch Kids are raising kids of their own that love and appreciate their favorite dolls.
You can help to encourage that love of the Cabbage Patch Dolls by throwing your kids their very own Cabbage Patch themed party. This party works well for a birthday, a fun tea party and even for a special Easter celebration. Imagine throwing an Easter themed party. You can hide the dolls in specially wrapped Easter baskets and have the kids go hunting for them in the morning. They’ll be so pleased and surprised by their finds. You’ll just have to take pictures. Later on in the day you can get the kids to bring their dolls for an official adoption ceremony.
For a girl’s tea party nothing could be better than the Cabbage Patch Kids theme. Who else will sit around drinking imaginary tea if not them? You can make this occasion even better by giving each of the guests their very own cabbage patch kid. Or to save a little money just invite everyone to bring their own dolls if they have them. You can set that table with a Cabbage Patch Kids tablecloth, paper plates and napkins to hold the scrumptious goodies you’ll be serving for the tea party. These will be real foods, not imaginary of course.
The Cabbage Patch Kids Birthday party can be crowned by giving your guest of honor his or her own doll to adopt and love. You can also entertain everyone at the party with some Cabbage Patch Kids movies and videos. Then give the rest of the guests Cabbage Patch themed party favors. Whistles, pencils, candies, temporary tattoos, and stickers are all great items. For extra fun throw in a few miscellaneous items like mini tambourines toy cars.

An Under the Sea Sleepover
An Under the Sea sleepover party can be great fun for the kids and the adults. You’ll probably remember the theme from long ago Proms and school dances of the forties and fifties. Heck this is such a popular theme there are probably still Under the Sea dances still being held all over the place.
For the sleepover party you can make your own Under the Sea party as special as you want. Wall murals are great ways to add instant atmosphere to any room and you’ll find plenty of ocean themed hangings to use at your party. There are magical coral reefs, tropical islands and schools of colorful fish ready and waiting to be added to your Under the Sea party area.
Inflatables are fun items to use at any party and they make for easy storage after the party is over. All you need to do is let the air out of them and roll them up. Inflatable fish can be scattered around the party area and they will practically invite the guests to come and play with them. Kids will be lounging on inflatable sharks and starting up games of toss the flounder in your living room!
Keep the theme up with fun Under the Sea themed movies for everyone to watch. You can plan to show, The Little Mermaid, Splash and for some scary effect, Deep Blue Sea.
Food absolutely has to be Fish and Chips. But you can also serve up those cute little fish crackers and for candy have some gummy fish on hand. Be sure to serve everything in Under the Sea themed paper supplies.
Lastly, send everyone home with a few fun Under the Sea themed party favors. Maybe a mini glass pendant filled with colored sand can keep kids happy? Or you can give the younger ones a plastic bucket and shovel set for building sand castles and be sure to give everyone a few cool sea shells to have on hand.

An Adult Pirate Party!
Monday, April 9, 2007Be sure to turn your next adult party into a fun Pirate themed party for everyone! Not including the kids. However, that doesn’t mean the adults can dress up like pirates and act like kids for a little while. When throwing your pirate themed party make sure to send out invitations to everyone telling them that this is a costume party, although if you forget you can probably count on a few people coming dressed up on their own.
You can easily provide food and drink fitting for a pirate party. The pirates loved their beer! Food should be rich and hearty. Lots of meats and cheeses. Perhaps you can set up a cold cuts buffet and let everyone make their own sandwiches for the event. Make sure you have plenty of cut bread as these pirate guests of yours will certainly have appetites to match their garb. Order extra of everything.
Pirate themed decorations are only suiting to the event. You can hang up red and black streamers, a skull and crossbones and give out eye patches and plastic hooks as party favors to the guests who happen to arrive without their pirate garb.
Entertainment can be lots of pirate movies and if you don’t feel like watching a movie try playing a CD of the movie soundtrack from the recent pirate movie, Curse of the Black Pearl.
Pirates liked their gold too so you can set up a few poker and blackjack games to entertain the guests. If you want to keep the party civil then use chocolate foil covered coins instead of real money in your betting. That way the winners still get a special treat and no one is throwing punches over lost money.
See if you can start up a few rounds of classic sea shanties with the guests and get a real sing-a-round going at the party. If not, don’t worry, just go back to your good food, entertainment and poker game!

A Puppy Pups Party Plan
If the kids have just gotten a new puppy or they have discovered those lovable puppy pups then you’ll probably want to throw a puppy pups themed party for that next big holiday event. Puppy pups parties are good for the summertime. That way you can invite the guests to bring over their own dogs to help celebrate the holiday or event. Of course this means you’ll need to tell your guests to make certain their dog is good with other dogs and ask that everyone RSVP with the number of dogs they’ll be bringing. You want to be prepared for a large number of pooches.
For the humans at the party you should certainly make use of some puppy pups party supplies. Everyone will just adore the plates, napkins, cups and tablecloth with the big puppy pups snouts featured in the forefront on them. If you like you can even serve the dogs at the party on these paper plates. It will make for much easier clean up.
Having dogs at the party is also a great idea if you want to set up some pet and owner competitions. You can have a basic walk the dog race by having pairs of owners and dogs line up on a starting line and at your ‘go’ making a quick dash for the finish line. You can add a little interest to this by setting up a fake ‘doggie pile’ that the owners need to pick up with a baggie and bring back to the starting place. Give a prize to the first group to complete the race.
Some simple party favors to give out can be just about anything related to the puppy pups theme. Give out whistles, doggie treats and human treats, and themed pencils, pens, stickers and even temporary tattoos for the kids at the party.

Powerpuff Girls Party for your Little Girl
Those three little Powerpuff Girls, bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup make the perfect team, when they aren’t arguing about something that is! Even though they usually end up arguing about who gets to play with what toy, in the end they always get their bad guy or gal.
You can get your kids to have a great birthday or just a plain old holiday celebration by using the Powerpuff Girls theme, especially if it happens to be their favorite show. Don’t despair if you aren’t sure how to put this together because there are lots of Powerpuff Girls party supplies available for you to use.
Start by looking for paper supplies themed after the cartoon. You should be able to find some tablecloth covers, paper plates in different sizes, napkins and probably some Powerpuff Girls cups. Just using these items will add a lot to the theme of your party.
If you plan on having a cake at the party you can probably get the local bakery to create a Powerpuff Girls sheet cake to match with the rest of the theme. It may cost a little bit extra, but those bakery cakes usually taste fantastic so it’s worth the price.
You can use the predominant colors of the television show to add to these party supplies with other items. There is a lot of pale blue, green and pink. So get some balloons in the right colors if you can’t find Mylar balloons themed after the Powerpuff Girls. You can also string up some streamers around the party area. Twisting two different colors of streamers together really creates a great decorative effect.
Lastly don’t forget to top off the theme by purchasing some Powerpuff Girls themed party supplies. The kids will love stickers, temporary tattoos, and themed pencils and coloring books after the miniature superheroes. Add a little candy for that sugar and spice!

A Sweet Sixteen Princess Party
Any little girl should have her very own princess party, whether she’s six years old or sixteen years old. You have the power to make that happen, preferably while she’s still young so the party won’t cost as much to throw as say the typical Sweet Sixteen Princess party! If that’s what she want though…
Most princess parties are naturally themed in pink and pastel colors, but you can make it a little more different and classy by using gold, clear or silver colors instead. This works great for an older girls’ party and makes it a bit more tolerable for the rest of the party guests to attend and have fun at.
Gold and silver decorations are a must for this. You can order some silver balloons or even clear balloons and fill them with silver confetti or ribbon. If you use helium and tie the inflated balloons in strategic groupings of three or four the party will look glamorous. Give the guests noise makers as party favors when they arrive. So you can have the guest of honor make a grand entrance with everyone making noise. Later on in the party, but don’t make it too much later or she’ll miss out on most of the fun.
Guests should dress up a little for this classy party so the ‘Princess’ won’t feel out of sorts wearing a nice dress. You can pick up some fun plastic tiaras to give everyone, so all can at the party can feel a little bit like royalty.
Fun drinking glasses can be plastic LED wine glasses. Turn them on before you fill them up and they’ll glow with cool colors for the rest of the night. You can even give them out as special party favors or just let the guests take them home.
Don’t forget to play some music at this party. You’ll need room for everyone to be able to dance so you might want to have it outside. If you do tell everyone to wear good walking shoes.

A Brief Scooby Doo Party Plan and History
Jinkies! I’ve got a clue that a Scooby Doo themed party just might be what you’re looking for! After all, Scooby and the rest of the gang, Shaggy, Fred, Thelma and Daphne have remained popular for thirty years. By now the kids who originally tuned in to the show have kids of their own that are enjoy the Scooby Doo gang!
Their have multiple television shows since the original cartoon series. The Scooby Doo gang grew up, broke up and got back together again. There’s even a cartoon series showing the Scooby Doo gang when they were just kids in school. Of course, who can forget the live action movies with Freddie Prince Junior?
If you are looking to throw a Scooby Doo party you’ll find that there is no shortage of movies and cartoons and even comic books that you can provide to the kids for entertainment. So with that taken care of you can move on to finding decorations.
Luckily there is also no shortage of merchandising for this scaredy pooch! Be on the lookout for paper party supplies in the form of Scooby Doo themed plates, napkins, cups and tablecloths. If you can find some fun Scooby Doo wall hangings they would add a lot to the party area.
In addition the Scooby Doo theme is great for a Halloween party. You can set up a monster mystery of your very own for the kids to solve. Before the party write out clues on pieces of paper and give them to the kids. At the end of the clue trail they should find a special monster treat!
Easy monster punch is a special treat to serve the kids at this party. You can take some lemon-lime soda, lemonade and a little green food coloring to make green monster juice. Place a few scoops of orange sherbet on top to act like monster innards.

Planning a 90s Theme Party
The 90s were an era of grunge music, teen angst and generation Xers. Yet it was also a time of rapid change in the global community. Desert Storm was watched by everyone around the world. American President, Bill Clinton served two terms and got caught up in a scandal. The internet truly came into full force during the late 90s and now almost everyone has access to an internet connection.
So how can you recreate the mood of the 90s with a decade party? First, take a walk down memory lane. It’s not important to capture everything about the 90s, which could be impossible. However, you should strive to capture elements of the 90s that were important to you and your guests. Were you in high school? Or were you out in the work a day world earning a living? These two different points of view can result in two completely different 90s parties.
Ask your guests to add to the atmosphere of the 90s party by coming dressed up in what they feel is essentially 90s era clothing. If you want a more corporate themed party tell them to dress up in business type clothes. If you want the party to be a grunge nirvana tell them to come in flannel and torn jeans.
If you are still having trouble visualizing what the 90s looked like go ahead and watch some quintessential 90s movies. Look at the style of clothing, the kind of computer equipment shown, what advertisers paid to movie spots. A good series of movies to look at are anything with Paulie Shore and The Wayne’s World movies.
Junk food is an excellent way to further the grunge 90s party. Go ahead and put out crackers with spray cheese on them or order from taco bell and make that your main meal. Guests will love it.

Anniversary Party for Newlyweds
They say that Anniversary parties should get more and more elaborate as you gain more and more years in your marriage. Though who says you have to stay with convention? You’re young, newly married and have survived to the one year or even five year mark. In today’s world with rising divorce rates that can be a big accomplishment. So go ahead and throw yourselves a lavish wedding anniversary party. This can be even more special if you didn’t get to have much of a wedding celebration. Why you might even consider renewing your vows.
Since you are newlyweds you can take advantage of your youthful energy to plan an unusual anniversary. Maybe you can invite your guests to come on a river rafting trip or take the plunge and go bungee jumping? If you do decide to do one or the other or both make sure someone have a camera going to record these memories forever.
After everyone is done risking their lives, feed them and feed them lots of good foods. Anniversary themed paper supplies can make the party very easy to clean up after a hectic day, so look into getting some classy silver or gold colored plates, cups, napkins and a tablecloth. To make the anniversary even more fun, you can toast everyone with LED light up wine glasses. They’ll light up the night when the sun goes down and your guests are still celebrating. Later, you can just let the guests take them home as special party favors.
If you do want to give out something more to the guests for anniversary party favors nothing beats small trinkets. They are easy to carry and can fit into a small bag. Candles are probably the least expensive and personalized items like card decks, key chains and pens the more expensive gifts.

Sweet 16th Birthday Party Ideas
The turning point for American boys and girls is the sweet 16th birthday. Other countries including Mexico celebrate a coming of age at 15. But the idea of being able to legally drive is the high point for all boys and girls in the US.
There are many great gift ideas to get a boy or girl turning 16 yeas old. The top of the list is a car of their very own. But that list is not limited to just a car in todays' technology age. A lot of young people want to have their own high powered computer system with cell phone and digital camera. Taking a trip would be the next exciting gift on the list. If money is not a option there are some over the top gift ideas. Rent a sports car to celebrate their drivers license or a hour flying lesson to really get their imagination to soar.
Having a party should be based on your teens personality. If they have a few select best friends than plan on a special adventure for all of them to go on together. Whitewater rafting or a overnight guided hiking trip would be a big hit. If your teen is a friend of the whole school consider renting a local water park for the day. Or have everyone pitch in and organize a day of working on planting trees and flower for your city. Then finish the day with a picnic and games at a local park. If cold weather is a issue than you can bring the party indoors at a ice skating rink or indoor sports arena.
A great way to start your sweet 16 boy or girls day off with a bang is to have a lawn greeting displayed. There are many exciting displays that will bring a happy memory to them for years to come. The display can also double as a announcement for the party later.

Backyard Barbeque Blunders
Stupidity isn't one of the essential ingredients in the perfect back yard barbeque. As much fun as grilling can be, it can be dangerous at times. It can also be quite amusing, unless you're the one being the idiot. But then, life is made up of idiotic acts that we all have been fortunate enough to survive. God must really have had a sense of humor when He gave the first cave man the idea to cook his meat instead of eating it raw.
Trouble begins when one of questionable intelligence, starts playing with matches, charcoal lighter and gas. A friend of mine who had a gas grill tried to start the burner with a match after turning the propane on and then going into the house to use the bathroom. He then took the time to get a drink before he went back outside.
It was a calm day with no breeze, so the gas sort of settled around the grill. When he struck the match, you could hear the whoomp all the way to the house. Luckily the fireball only singed the hair on his head, his arms and his eyebrows. It shouldn't have to be said, but never leave the gas line open for any length of time before igniting the gas.
Unfortunately, most barbequing mishaps are not due to carelessness, but to stupidity. Charcoal grills are especially fun to work with and only an idiot would use gasoline to start the fire. Another friend of mine, Joe, did just that. He didn't start off that day being stupid; that came later in the afternoon.
One Saturday afternoon in June, Joe invited all the neighbors over for the first cook out of the season. Everyone was in a festive mood, especially Joe. This was his big chance to show off his grilling skills to the neighbors. Now he has always struck me as being a brick shy of a full load, but I was always willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, until that Saturday afternoon. Joe proved my theory correct when he came very close to burning down his house.
Joe's stupidity wasn't readily apparent at the beginning of the evening when he prepared to light the charcoal. Not one to do something half way, he used an entire twenty pound bag of charcoal. He had converted a 55 gallon drum into a smoker grill that was big enough to serve the entire neighborhood. Almost a full can of charcoal lighter was used to ensure that all the briquettes were burning brightly.
It didn't work. While Joe went into the house to supervise the preparation of the meat and side items, the fire outside in the grill went out. Such a dilemma! He had just used all his charcoal lighter. One of his neighbors went next door to get a can of fire starter but it wasn't fast enough for Joe. After all, this was his party and it was up to him to get things rolling again.
I'm sure somewhere deep inside Joe's mind he knew that pouring gasoline on charcoal, especially when that charcoal had already been burning, was not a brilliant idea. Sure enough when the gasoline hit the charcoal, a briquette that was still burning and hiding underneath the mound of charcoal, ignited the gasoline! Whooomp! The gas can start spouting flames.
Joe threw the gas can as far as he could; right on top of his brand new treated wood deck. When the can hit the deck, the top came off, pouring the gasoline out of the can onto the wooden deck. There was a big blaze this time. By now we had the garden hose going and the next door neighbor was soaking down Fred's deck too. In a matter of minutes the fire department arrived and extinguished the fire. Luckily nothing but the deck was burned. Someone was looking out forJoe that day!
Electric kettle type smokers have become popular lately because they keep a constant heat and they're easy to cook with. A great tip is to always keep the smoker in the garage and out of the rain. If the lava rocks in the bottom of the tray are wet, when you turn the electric wand on and it's buried in wet rocks; guess what? The sound this time won't be whooomp! It will be bang! The electric wand will blow apart, ruining a perfectly good smoker and cook-out.
The moral to this story is simple. If you're stupid, don't play with matches!

Beach Parties for All Occasions
Summer, Sand, Surf, Seagulls, Seashells and Sunshine? Ssssso…it's time for a Beach party again! She may sell seashells down by the seashore or have a confining desk job but when the season's right it's time. Get out the grill or dig some clams, whatever the local favorite, the beach party is the best place in town to eat.
Some may complain about sand in their food but none of the guests will complain about the atmosphere because anything tastes better at the beach. Any budget will allow for a great beach party. If nothing else just pick up some food at the drive through and set up the volleyball net. Even when there isn't a volleyball game the surf provides the entertainment and the sunset provides the view.
Different public beaches have different facilities and rules of using those facilities so it is imperative to check with local parks & recreation departments before grabbing a picnic shelter that might already be reserved for another use. Many municipalities and states do have free reservation of shelters, tables and grills however. Some even have electric so that slow cookers or portable refrigerating coolers may be used.
Many parks have recreation centers or sports equipment rental so there shouldn't be any shortage of things available for guests to do on their own dime. If not then maybe it would be best to have guests bring beach balls or horse shoes. Some might even want to fish, snorkel or sail. It may be possible to schedule when another free entertainment like music, sailboat or balloon races are to be presented. Be careful to evaluate the parking first when this is the plan though!
Buy lots of beach party themed paper party goods to make any occasion better at the Public Park or private beach.

Birthday Parties Can Be Affordable
Saturday, April 7, 2007Of all the celebrations only birthday parties can be relied upon to honor an individual every year regardless of his achievements. Birthday parties should always be tailored to the interests of the guest of honor. Birthday paper party goods help to set the tone and cheer up the guests regardless of how old the guest of honor is.
Whether held in a great hall or just the dining room a birthday party when properly planned can make most of us proud of our existence. Children and the very old seem to be among those most pleased to acknowledge the passing of another year; and with good reason! Be sure to throw them birthday parties no matter who else gets one each year.
Nearly any budget can be adjusted to allow for some form of birthday party. With an extremely limited budget the key is long range planning. Here are a few tips on planning the birthday party on a budget:
• Make a list of things that must be done and knock them out one at a time. The lower the budget the longer the list.
• Start early putting things aside from each week's grocery money for the party. For instance buy a cake mix one week. Buy candles the next week. Buy the icing the following week. Buy snacks the last week since these will be eaten if found! Grocery brands have a very long shelf life and this will allow time to utilize sales and coupons.
• Put gifts and other more expensive items in layaway. This is usually going to allow about a month to spread out payments. Most stores have a generous layaway policy that lets the layaway be canceled with most of the money (other than a service fee) to be refunded.
Have fun!

BBQ For The kids
You will want to make your kids next party a fun affair during the summertime, and the messy but tasty foods offered at a BBQ can help make that happen. It is also a great part to mix with the summer holidays and you can hold it outside. That’s three excellent reasons to host a BBQ in your backyard or at your local park.
To ensure that you have food that all the kids like at the party tell them in the invitations that it’s a BYOB or a ‘bring your own beef’ affair. Of course they don’t have to bring beef there are lots of options available. Someone may be a vegetarian and bring tofu, someone else might have a garden full of veggies they want grilled with butter and a few zesty seasonings. What’s great about this potluck style affair is that everyone is assured that they have food they’ll eat at the party and everyone can bring a little extra so people can sample new BBQ tastes.
Always decorate your BBQ parties with paper supplies. This makes for very easy clean up and very easy decoration. Whatever the holiday just make sure you find matching themed plates, napkins, tablecloths and so on. Then at the end of the BBQ hand your guests a trash bag and encourage them to take part in the great clean up. Even on holidays such as Earth Day you can celebrate with a great BBQ and using recycled materials make a quick clean up afterwards.
Games at the BBQ can be themed on whatever holiday you are helping to celebrate. There are an incredible number of games you can try, such as a Dinosaur Run, or Pass the Orange, which always ends with most guests giggling so hard they can hold their oranges.

A Over The Hill Party With A Lawn Greeting
Have you ever thrown a Over The Hill party? Everyone now expects at least once someone will be giving them a Over The Hill party. There two ways to throw someone one. The first way to is to be mean and give the person a hard time about growing old. The first thing you could do is put a lawn greeting with 25 tombstones in the front yard. Or you can have buzzard, black crow and back clouds with black candles. Included with a lawn greeting is a large message card that you can choose a message or make on yourself. Some Over The Hill Messages are:
* Here Lies Steves' Youth
* Julie Is Now Over The Hill
* The Old Buzzard is 60
* Happy Birthday You Old Crow
* John Has Something To Crow About
* Happy Birthday You Old Buzzard
* Holy Cow Sue Is Now 30
* Mark Has one Batty At 40
The second way is to have a nostalgic Over The Hill Party. This is another fun way to celebrate how old a person is getting. Search the internet for ideas of what the top song of the year was when they were born. Or do a theme based on what the popular movie was at the time. Party Invitations can be made to look like old newspapers with stories from that year on it. A Lawn greeting for these parties would be great with Smiley Faces, Stars, Colored Candles, Flamingo, Cowboy Boots, And on the personalized message board you could put:
* Jason Is Still Young At Heart
* Golly Gee Wow Diane Is 30 Now
* We Are Grinning Ear To Ear..Sue's Birthday Is Here
* Don Is 30 And Looking Fine
* Hugs & Kisses With Birthday Wishes
* We Did Not Forget Maria Is 50 Today
Either type of Over The Hill party will sure be a hit and create memories that last for years to come.

Planning A Birthday For A Child
That precious child will now be turning three. Apart from pre-schooling, he will also be encountering new things that would affect his entire life. As he say bye-bye to his first two years, it would be best to shower him with a party and help him blow his third birthday cake candle.
Planning a birthday for a 3 year old should be done in advance. It would be nice if you can celebrate his birthday in a kiddy restaurant. However, nothing still beats home. Now, it all starts with budget since this command all other things that are integrated into the planning of the birthday party.
Date and Time Early on, you must already set the date and time of the birthday party. If you are foreseeing changes in schedule, it is best that you also take this in consideration and should also have alternative plans with subsequent changes.
Often, birthday parties for three year olds are held during weekends especially during the afternoon. This proves to be the best time however, this also interferes with other activities such as family outings and attendance to entertainment events. Nevertheless, it is still better than doing it during weekdays.
Other people prefer to hold parties during Saturday mornings though. However, this limits the time for preparation. Nonetheless, once the party finishes, you already have the whole day to spend with your visitors.
It is vital that you plan the date ahead so as to book the entertainers earlier.
Length of the Party - Typically, birthday parties for three year old children last only for around 2 to 3 hours. This is largely determined by the activities and the capacity of the entertainers to hold the children's attention longer.
Party theme - You don't necessarily have to set a theme but it would help in making the planning easier if you do. Most people fall on the common mistake that everything in the party must fit into the theme. Well, if you have the budget and if you can find people who would be willing to arrange the entire theme for you then that would be great. However, you should not be stressed-out if you can't find entertainers to do the work for you.
Decoration - While decorating it would be best if you follow the theme you have set BUT don't cover every square foot of the venue with decors that fit your theme. Several major items would be good but don't over accessorize the place.
Invitation - Never forget the invitations and never forget that you show your theme on your invitation. This would prepare your guests of what to expect in your child's party. Also, include the specific time you would want your guest to arrive.
Food - Foods in children's party don't necessarily have to be normal foods. When children are having fun, they do not care what gets into their mouth, they are more eager to play than eat.
Cake - What would be a party without a cake? The common practice is to reserve the actual cake and give children some cupcakes. This would eliminate the possibility that a child would get upset when the other child has a larger piece or got a decoration on it.
Games and activities - Central to children's parties are the games. Entertainers normally take charge of the activities. Inviting party clowns is a good idea.
All of this can help you making the best birthday, try to write everything that you will be needed, and remember paying attention for safety, your home is a safe place, but with 30 kids running everywhere it can be wise considering limiting some area in the house.

Throw an "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader" Party
Looking for a great party idea? Invite guests to your own rendition of the hit game show “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader.” Test their knowledge, or lack thereof, of grade school facts. Much like the hit game show, grownups will find themselves in disbelief over how much they have forgotten since elementary school. You will surely make the “honor roll” when you throw this A+ party for your friends.
Create the Atmosphere
Make a classroom setting:
·Create a blackboard (or use a real one) at the front of the room to serve as the game board (Print up to six topics on the board: First Grade Math, Third Grade Social Studies, Fifth Grade Earth Science, etc., and make up several easy questions for each.)
·Decorate a “teacher’s desk” in font of the blackboard (Place the following on the desk…an apple, a stack of books, a pencil cup full of sharpened pencils, a globe, a pencil sharpener, a candy jar, etc.)
·Arrange two student desks facing the blackboard…one for the student helper and one for the contestant
Decorate for 8-year-olds
Tie red helium balloons to bright red apples and place all around the party room
Hang grade-school poster cutouts on the walls (found at teacher supply stores)
Stack shoeboxes at the entry to the party to serve a “cubbies” for the guest to stow their belongings
Hang a large map on the wall
Place an American flag in the corner of the room
Use old-fashioned lunch boxes as centerpieces on the tables
Print guests’ names on wooden rulers and use as place markers on the tables
Play the Game
Before the party, find two or three elementary students to serve as student helpers. Make sure they are aware of how the game works. Let them know that they will be asked to answer grade-school questions. (Plan to play the game at the start of the party, so youngsters can slip away early.) Also choose a friend (if not yourself) to play the part of the game show host, or teacher. Make sure the host is familiar with the scenario of the game.
Explain the rules of the game and ask if anyone thinks they are “smarter than a fifth grader.” Choose a fun-loving, willing contestant and start the laughs. After the first contestant finishes, or graduates, choose someone else and play another round.
Make it More Fun
Create fake money (personalized with details about the party) to award the winning contestants. Record the music from the game show on TV and have it playing during the party. Serve sack lunches: pack each guest a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a bag of chips and a small dessert in a paper lunch sack. Fold down the tops and print the names of the guests on the bags with a magic marker. Place the lunch sacks in the middle of the food table and surround them with plenty of finger foods. Fill coolers with juice boxes and milk cartons, and of course have a second cooler filled with beer and bottled water.
For a fun touch, ask guests to come to the party dressed as grade-schoolers or teachers. Set up an elementary school “picture day” backdrop and take digital pictures of guests. Print the pictures and send them home in manila envelopes.
Request that guests bring a grade-school photo of themselves (if they can find one) and have a “guess the grade-schooler” game during the party.
For take-home favors, order personalized pencils and notepads. Pack them into zipper pouches or small school supply boxes along with glue sticks, fruit cups, big lollipops and Twinkies.

Being A Great Party Host
Friday, April 6, 2007Hosting a party is always fun. However, it takes a lot of preparation to make sure that you and your party both are ready for your guests to enjoy.
As a host, always remember you are the reason for the party. You are the glue that holds everything together. Unless you are inviting a close-knit group of friends, a lot of your attendees might be meeting for the first time. Whether close friends or strangers, just keep in mind that you are going to be "on" all night. So, be sure that you are prepared before the first guest is scheduled to arrive. Put yourself in your guests’ shoes; there is nothing like attending a party that is not ready to start when you arrive. You want to make your first guest feel as welcomed as the ones that come well into the party. To do this you might want to enlist some of your close friends to help with preparation and tasks during the party. Depending on the celebration size, you may not be able to navigate every aspect of the event. Ask a friend to be in charge of taking coats when your guests arrive or making sure that there is enough ice for drinks during the course of the party. You can even hire staff that could be dedicated to these tasks as well.
To prepare yourself mentally and physically, give yourself time to relax before your guests arrive. You might want to pamper yourself with a pre-party spa day, treat yourself to a drink before the party starts, meditate, or perform another relaxation ritual. No matter what, be sure to prepare everything ahead of time and do all that you can to ensure that YOU and YOUR PARTY shine.

Ditch Traditional Gift Giving - Buy Personalized Gifts
If you are giving gift to someone who is celebrating his birthday or to a couple on their wedding day, chances are, you are in a dilemma looking for a gift that is special, unique and one that will please the recipient. Traditional gift giving will have you thinking about giving books, clothing or jewelry to a friend who is celebrating his special day. You might be also thinking about giving dining sets to a couple who has invited you to come to their wedding event. These gift ideas, however, are ordinary and common that will not create a statement about how you appreciate the person who will receive the gifts. Another problem with traditional gifts is that you might only be guessing about what particularly interests the recipients or what certain things a celebrator is desiring to have. If you are buying a book for an old classmate, for example, you might be giving a novel that doesn’t interest him or that he might already have. If you are buying a dining set for a newly wed couple, these same set might also be thought of giving by another guest. These, and many other reasons, are why you should stop thinking about traditional gifts. Here are also some of the reasons why you should give personalized gifts:
Personalized gifts are unique and special. Personalized gifts can stand out from other gifts because they describe and characterize the personality of their receiver. A birthday celebrator may be receiving a number of photo frames for his special day but a personalized photo frame engraved with the receiver’s name will be well appreciated. In addition to this, a person who will receive a simple but personalized gift will consider your thought unique and special.
Personalized gifts are relatively more affordable than traditional gifts. People have become so accustomed to receiving gifts so recipients are so hard to please these days. Thus, gift givers generally resort to buying more expensive gifts to please their recipients. An expensive watch, for example, on a couple’s anniversary can convey a message that the receiver is special but it can cost the giver an arm and a leg. Giving a less expensive but personalized gift such as a personalized photo album will convey the same message that the receiver is special without the hassles of costs.
If you are still thinking about what gifts to give someone on a coming special day, scrap the idea of traditional gifts. Go for personalized gifts that are unique, special and affordable. Truly, the receiver will appreciate to receive a gift that is personalized, specially thought of and given by you.

Chinese New Year Party Games
The following make great party games for your Chinese New Year Party.
Wonderment Chinese New Year Party Games
The Wonderment game is sure to take the players of your Chinese New Year party game by awe. The Wonderment game is played with just two people in the party who will be in the know of the game, resulting in “wonderment” for all the others. First, before the commencement of this Chinese New Year game, two players need to agree on a signal word such as the word “and”. Then one of them declares that he/she is gifted with second sight and that he/she can name, through a closed door, any object touched by any person. The player then chooses a confederate as if by random, while actually selecting the other player. Then the player leaves the room and the selected player proceeds to call out different objects. The trick is to call out a variety of objects but precede the selected object with the signal word. For instance, the player can call out “table, rug, piano, footstool and chair, inkstand, lamp”, adding a lot of object names to confuse the other player. The player then touches a chair in the room and asks the other player “what am I touching now”? The player will answer “Chair” to the amazement of everyone present in the room. Of course, the player finds the right answer because the signal word “and” was spelt immediately before the word “chair”.
When played skillfully, the Wonderment Chinese New Year party game will fill your Chinese New Year party with a lot of amazement and wonder.
Postman’s Knock Chinese New Year Party Games
The Postman’s Knock Chinese New Year party game begins with one player going out of the room and giving a postman’s knock (a double knock) at the door. One of the players must stand inside and answer the knocks made. First, the player should ask the postman “Who is the letter for?” The postman then names a member of the Chinese New Year party game, usually of the opposite sex. The player then must ask the postman how many cents need to be paid. The postman replies with a number say “six”. The person for whom the letter is meant for will then pay the postman with the same number of kisses, instead of cents. The person then takes the turn as postman and the Chinese New Year party game continues.

Free Christmas Party Games And Activities
Enliven the spirit of Christmas with a couple of fun games for children. Here are two delightful Christmas party games that can be played with any number of children.
Sea King Christmas Party Game In the Sea King Christmas party game, one player is selected to play the role of the “Sea King” whose duty is to stand in the center of a circle, formed by the rest of the players seated around him. The circle should be as large as possible. The game continues with each player choosing the name of a fish. The ‘Sea King’ runs around the circle calling each player by his/her fish name.
As the King calls out their names, each player gets up and follows the Sea King. Once all his subjects have left their seats, the sea king calls out, “The sea is troubled”, and sits on a seat immediately. Following his example, his subjects also rapidly seat themselves. The player who fails to get a seat has to take the place of the Sea King and the game continues.
Sally Water Christmas Party Game Sally Water Christmas party game is an enjoyable game, with a lot of singing and dancing involved. Children will love to play this Christmas party game. The game begins with the formation of a circle by all the children except one little girl who kneels in the center. The children then dance around the girl singing the following rhyme.
“Sally, Sally Water, sprinkle in the pan, Rise, Sally, rise, Sally, for a young man; Choose for the best and choose for the worst, And choose the very one you love the most. Now you're married I wish you joy, First a girl and then a boy; Seven years after, son and daughter, Pray, young couple, come kiss together.”
When the second line is sung, the child in the center rises with the cue “Rise, Sally!” and chooses another child from the circle. The children then sing the remaining lines of the verse and the two children in the circle dance round and kiss. Sally then joins the circle while the second child remains there and plays as Sally. The Christmas party game continues and goes on till all the children have acted the role of Sally.

Holiday Madness Simplified
In this day and age we all live the lives of fast racers! It often is hard to find the time to get everything done each and every day. Then when we are faced with a holiday we are really out of sorts.
We can make this all simpler, if we don’t have to host a holiday. But often we are caught doing it! If you take the time to prepare for the holiday a week or two in advance you will notice your tunnel has light at the other end. You won’t be caught off guard.
First, several weeks in advance, make a note of who is attending. This list is part of your holiday madness bible so to speak. Take the list and count on how many people and put a total at the bottom. You know this list like the back your hand and most times it will not change, and if it does, usually not by many.
Then take a paper and plan a menu. Holidays are somewhat telling of what you will have…Ham at Easter and Turkey at Thanksgiving. So write a dinner menu, include everything you plan to serve including the items you may want to bake ahead of time. From this list you can make your grocery list out. Remember to include your baking items as well.
Being that you know the holiday make a list of decorations that are needed. This should be simple. Most times we don’t decorate for the small holiday and for the larger ones we have everything.
Now you are probably asking yourself when you have time to make such list. Well there is no better time than while you are at lunch, you don’t need to sit long, and you can keep the list on a table and just add to it as you think of things.
By planning far ahead you will cut down on the stress and enjoy your holiday gatherings to the fullest extent!

Free 4th of July Party Games
Planning for a fourth of July party? Here are two exciting 4th of July party games that are sure to entertain the children.
The 4th of July Cat and Mouse Party Game
The 4th of July cat and mouse party game is a game played by two groups of children. Divide the children into two groups and make them sit in two rows opposite each other. Leave enough space between the two rows, for the children to walk around. Select two children at the start of the game - one to be the "cat" and the other the "mouse". Blindfold both the children and place the child playing the cat at one end of the row and the child playing the mouse at the opposite end of the row.
The party game rolls into action when the "cat" tries to catch the "mouse". Both the children start to walk in opposite directions using the chairs to guide themselves. The action of the cat trying to catch the mouse is a delightful one and is sure to excite the children who are watching the game. Amidst squeals and peals of laughter, when the mouse is finally caught by the cat, the game continues with two other children playing the cat and mouse.
The 4th of July Patriotic Alphabet Game
Another interesting game that children would love to play at the 4th of July party is the patriotic alphabet game. This is a special 4th of July game that involves learning along with a lot of fun. To play this game you require a boxful of letters. You can either purchase them at any toy store or if you would like to convert this into another fun activity, you can arrange the children themselves to prepare the letters from newspaper cuttings - a new fun way to start a fun game.
Have the participants of the 4th of July party seated round a table. Shuffle the alphabets and deal it among them. The children then should form the word of the states of America with the letters given to them. For this, the entire list of 50 states can be given to them at the beginning of the play. The patriotic alphabet game is a fun way for children to learn not only to form new words but also the various names of the states.

Creative Ideas for Surprise Birthday Invitations
Ever thought about holding a surprise birthday party for someone close to you? If so, you must've given some thought about how difficult it would be to invite the celebrant's friends and family to attend it, without the celebrant knowing! A real surprise party planner will know how to cover his or her tracks, and that goes for sending surprise birthday invitations.
If you want to send out surprise birthday invitations, you have to put a little effort and creativity into not being found out by your celebrant! Discretion is key! The most important thing is for you to think outside the box. There should be less popular but no less efficient ways to present the invitation. Cards aren't the only format available to you!
If you need the guests to present something at the gathering, think about making something small and inconspicuous. A business card would be a prime example. You could make something that looks like an ordinary business card in the front, but contains valuable contact information and details related to the surprise party at the back. Something so small is sure to escape the celebrant's attention! On the other hand, it may be so small as to be easily lost. If you can, make sure to follow up by phone to make sure your target guest still has the invitation!
A coupon-type invitation would be a particularly appealing variant of the discreet invitation route. For the front, use colorful designs and vibrant wording like "ADMIT ONE (1) TO SARAH'S SURPRISE 30TH BIRTHDAY PARTY." Don't forget to include the contact details, as well!
Origami invitations would be a truly creative way to present your invitation. The words "You are invited!" may be a good, simple decoration for the front, leading the guest to unfold the origami and find the details for the surprise party preparations written inside!
Make sure to distribute your birthday invitations in person. Word of mouth is still the best way to go about making surprise birthday invitations; call up the friends and family of the celebrants, and leave no evidence. However, if you are not yet familiar with everyone who is invited, an invitation would be called for - this would be their identification card, as it were, when it's time to get together. They would need something to present at the door as proof that they are in fact invited to the gathering.

Class Reunion Party Games
If you’re planning your class reunion, party games are great for a few different reasons. They break the ice, encourage guests to reminisce about the past and add to the fun of the event. Here are a couple of game ideas:
"Classmate Photo Competition" Class Reunion Party Game
Everyone who attends the reunion must bring a photo of themselves as a child. In this class reunion party game, guests must try and guess who is in each of the photos, with the person getting the most correct answers being the winner. Alternatively, guests can each be handed a photo, and then have to find the person who is in the photo.
"So You Think You Know Your Classmates" Class Reunion Party Game
For this class reunion party game, put the names of all attendees in a hat, and get everyone to draw a name out of the hat. As the party goes on, guests must find out a secret from the person whose name they selected, something that no-one else knows about. Toward the end of the party gather the group together and allow everyone to share the secret they found out. Other guests have to try and guess who the secret belongs to.
Having a class reunion, party games included, can be a great way to catch up with faces from the past and reminisce about your younger days. When you haven’t seen people for 10 or 20 years, it can be difficult to break the ice and get re-acquainted again; throw a few games into the mix and your guests will be getting along as though they only saw each other yesterday!

Mexican Fiesta Party Games - Tips to Spice Up the Occasion
There are a few elements that are absolutely ESSENTIAL if you’re hosting a Mexican fiesta. Party games and Mexican food are among the most enjoyable – especially when you combine the two!! Here are a few Mexican fiesta party game ideas to liven up your fiesta:
"Nachos-Eating Competition" Mexican Fiesta Party Game
This Mexican fiesta party game is deliciously fun. Prior to the party, prepare a plate of nachos (or just corn chips and dip) and divide it among several bowls. Guests have to pair up, and take one bowl of nachos per team. One team-member stands behind the other, acting as their ‘arms’, and must feed the nachos to their partner. The first team to empty their bowl is the winner of this Mexican fiesta party game. This game could end up being VERY messy, so it’s a good idea to play it outside and provide players with ‘bibs’ to protect their clothes!!
"Chilli-Pepper Challenge" Mexican Fiesta Party Game
Before the party, purchase a variety of chilli-peppers ranging in heat from mild to extremely hot. Guests start out by eating the mildest chillies, and if they can eat the whole chilli without needing a drink, they move onto the next hottest one. The game continues, with any player unable to eat a whole chilli (regardless of how hot it is!) or needing to drink, bowing out of the game. The last player standing - therefore the winner of this feiry Mexican fiesta party game - is the unofficial King or Queen of the Chilli-Pepper challenge!!
Whether they involve indulging in Mexican cuisine or not, Mexican fiesta party games are loads of fun and will really add to your party and make it one to remember.

Safari Party Games To Get You In The "Swing" Of Things - It's A Jungle Out There
Enjoy a Safari themed party with fun games. Become a wild animal. Try these free games to have a roaring good time.
Children and adults love to play this game of Classic Charades with a safari party games twist! If you have young ones, prepare for this game ahead of time by making a list of safari animals. Cut the list into strips of paper, fold, and place in a bowl. Have the “actor” come to choose an animal one might see on a safari. You can also have them come up with their own animal, but be prepared to be flexible with the “safari” animals as any animal the child thinks up should be accepted depending upon their age. The actor will then be allowed to move and make sounds as if they were the animal. No other words, encouragement, etc. are allowed!
Another favorite safari party game is “Where is my baby animal?” In this game, half of the players are given the name of a safari animal. Each of the other players are given a card with the name of a baby animal of the same type on it.(Ex. elephant; elephant calf) Players are given one minute to find their match. If they are not paired at the end of one minute, they must be seated until the next round. Play continues with the number of players and the amount of time decreasing for each round. The two winners are the ones who are paired up first when there are only two pairs left.
Keep the Safari party theme throughout the party with decorations, favors, and animal music.

Fraternity Themed Party Games, We're All brothers!
Thursday, April 5, 2007Fraternity parties are fun with music, food and games. A fraternity party could can be wild, raucous, and generally good times! When you’re recreating that mood with your themed party, you’ll want to remember those college days with a few games.
FRATERNITY GREEK ALPHABET
Try “Greek alphabet?” Set this up ahead of time by writing the names of all of the Greek letters on strips of paper. Include other strips of paper with made-up names. Then each person chooses a strip of paper and tries to decide if it’s a letter of the Greek alphabet or a nonsense word. Since the letters of the Greek alphabet have strange-sounding names (Ro, Sigma, Kappa) it will be entertaining to watch people try to pronounce them and distinguish them from the other words.
FRATERNITY ORANGE PASS
Players in the fraternity party line up into two teams rotating boy, girl, boy, girl, etc. The first person places the orange under his chin. The next person grabs the orange using only using her chin/neck. No using your hands! This repeats until the orange gets to the last person. Which ever team finishes first wins!
Give out fraternity themed party favors and prizes to fit with the event celebration. Even school supplies are appreciated as gifts and prizes. Always have extra party games on hand just incase things slow down. Better safe then sorry! You can even include a note in the invitations for the guests to bring their favorite party game.

Survivor Party Games, It's a Team Thing
Survivor is very popular for testing the bonds of a team. In these survivor party games, teams will work together to accomplish a task.
The first game has each team cooperating to keep a ball in the air and off the ground. Have each member of the team grab an edge of a towel or blanket. Place a beach ball in the middle. After "Ready, Set, Go!" each team will bump their ball into the air by lifting the blanket quickly on their edge. The goal of the game is to get as many "bumps" as possible in the time given without letting the ball touch the ground. This means you really have to work together!
Another fun survivor party game that challenges the mind is called "Stranded on an Island.." Players sit in a circle with the party person going first. They will say "If I were stranded on an island, I would hope to have...." and then name something that begins with "A" that would be helpful to have on an island. (An ax, for example.) The next person in line repeats the full line, the word beginning with "A," and a new word beginning with "B." Play continues around the circle until someone can't remember one of the words. They are out of the circle and play continues, skipping them. The survivor of this game is the last one in the circle.
Stick with the Survivor party theme throughout the event. Hand out buffs for party favors. DVD of the show Survivor are great for game prizes.

Western Party Games, Round 'em Up, Partner!
Western themed parties are fun with country western music, BBQ foods, and wild west party games. So round up the kids to play these party games while listening to western party music.
At any western-themed party, there are two games that your group must play! The first game, “Circle the Wagons” is an active game that’s fun for children of all ages. Divide teams into two groups: wagons and bandits. The wagons should form a circle by holding hands. The bandit group will wait outside until the wagons are circled, then try to get inside the circle through the wagons. The wagon group should walk around in a circle so the bandits have a difficult time getting in. Swap groups and compare which group had the more sneaky bandits.
Another game to wrap up the evening is “Pony Express.” Have all players form a circle and put their hands behind their back. One player is chosen as the pony express rider and is given a small piece of paper as a letter. He will walk around the circle and deliver the letter to one of the players. He then takes off quickly running around the circle. But wait, he delivered the wrong letter! That player then has to run to catch up with him. If the postman gets to the empty seat before he is tagged, he is “safe at home.” The other runner will have to take over the deliveries for him and the game continues.
Bandanas make great party favors and prizes!

Woodstock Party Games, Peace, Man!
Music is a must at a Woodstock themed party. Have the guests come dressed in the 60's era to get in the party mood...
So you’re getting your groove on at a Woodstock-themed party and you need something fun to do to get all the party people involved. Enjoy these Woodstock style party games.
Try playing “You Said It!” Each person must recite a music lyric, peace slogan, or famous quote from the ‘60s or 70’s. Players that run out of ideas are out! You can also modify the game by requiring opponents to name the band/group/person the quote came from and keep points. This depends, naturally, on the knowledge base of the partygoers. This game is great to set the mood of the theme.
Once you’re into the era and the party is hopping, try a game with music from bands that played at Woodstock. This will take a little bit of preparation ahead of time, but play a few bars from a piece of music and allow guesses about the name of the song, artist, or the next lyric. Keep points for correct guesses and the one with the most after all songs have been played wins! Also, try playing this game in teams.
Prizes and party favors should match the Woodstock theme along with the party supplies, decorations, and environment. Light candles and dress in tye dye. Make sure the party invitations show the theme so the guest too can come in costume.

How To Throw A Slumber Party For Pre - Teen Girls
Your daughter’s birthday is approaching and she has requested a slumber party. I can almost hear the anxiety in your voice, as you visualise loud music, incessant giggling and finding popcorn for weeks after the event. There is really no need to worry, as good organisation is the key to a successful party.
Steps to take …
Step 1: Tell your daughter how many friends she can invite and let her decide who they will be. Then send out the invites well in advance of the party, so that you have plenty of time to plan it properly.
Step 2: Have some music playing as the guests arrive and give them some time to chat together.
Step 3: Set up some glasses, fancy straws, cocktail umbrellas, fruit slices and cartons of juice in the kitchen. Have a competition to see who can make the most amazing fruit cocktail and give a prize for the best one.
Step 4: Divide the girls into teams and have a game of ‘Guess the Pop Star’ and ‘The Perfect Makeover’ and give prizes to the winning team.
Step 5: Put on your first DVD and serve hot dogs, chips and dips, pizza, popcorn and drinks.
Step 6: When you think it is getting late enough, you can gently coax the party guests up to the bedroom. Tell them that there will be a gift for them all in the morning, providing they keep the noise down.
Step 7: Have plenty of toast and juice waiting for your guests as they come down for breakfast.
Tips …
Make a list of all the things you are going to need and make sure you get everything ready before the guests arrive.
Try to estimate how long the games and activities are going to last – this will help you to plan the party better.
With your guidance, let your daughter decorate her bedroom with balloons, fairy lights, ribbons, etc.
Set out some make up, hair accessories, beads and string in a suitably well-lit area in her room.
Plan out where all the sleeping bags are going to go and have them set up long before bedtime.
Issue some torches, to ensure that no one falls on top of anyone when rushing desperately to the loo in the middle of the night.
Diplomatically issue some ground rules before bedtime – after all you are responsible for other people’s children when they are in your care.
State the time you wish the guests to be dropped off and collected clearly on the invites.
State on the invites that everyone is required to bring a sleeping bag and pillow.
Have a few plastic aprons available for messy games, in case anything gets on someone’s best clothes.
Finally, don’t forget to have a camera or camcorder ready!
Warnings …
Make sure you are aware of any allergies, or health problems.
Don’t invite too many guests – particularly if it the first sleepover.
Try not to be too bossy – remember that it is only for one night.
Things you will need …
Things to decorate the bedroom and/or downstairs
Makeup – for makeovers
Hair accessories
Beads and string – for jewellery making
DVDs
A selection of suitable music
Cocktail accessories
Fresh juices
Cocktail glasses

As each person arrives at the baby shower you will ask them to write a rare known fact about themselves on a piece of paper. This could be their first job, first car or a hidden talent. They will then drop the piece of paper into a container along with other guests facts.
Each person will then pick one sheet of paper and try and guess who it is. That is only one way to play this game, another way is get the shower host to read each one and have the guests guess who it is.

Garden Party Games Outdoors with the Flowers
Monday, April 2, 2007If you are thinking of having a garden party with garden party games, then you definitely are planning a really pleasant time with your kids, neighbors and friends. There can be a wide range of garden party games that you can select from. Below we are going to describe two games that are going to make the fun spin through the party.
Guess The Foods
First of all, select the individuals by playing Simon Sez to play Guess The Foods. You can stop playing Simon Sez by selecting 5 participants at the end of it. Now blindfold the participants one by one and get them taste the different garden foods. The participants are going to taste the different foods and ask a guest to write the answers on a sheet of paper with the name of the participant on it. Then at the end, the one who guessed the most right answers is the champion of Guess The Foods game. This is an excellent choice for the garden party games.
Play The Limbo
For this garden party game, to make it very competitive, you need to select the individuals of almost similar height. If there are people of different heights, see if you can make a different category for them because this game truly depends on the flexibility of the body. Place two stands about four feet apart and then place a pole, which is placed horizontally between the two bars. The individuals are now asked to go below the pole and as everyone is able to go beneath the pole, just lower it down every time till you have one person in the end, who is going to be the King or Queen of Play The Limbo.
There can be so many other choices of garden party games that you can select from or can develop your own creative garden party game. Just remember that in different games, everyone must have an opportunity to participate so that everyone can enjoy it to the max.
