A Dinosaur Party Dig!

Monday, April 16, 2007

Dinosaur parties are extremely popular amongst the kids. Almost everyone goes through a period when they want to become a scientist when they grow up, sometimes those phases turn into lifelong dreams so you can really encourage your child’s interest by throwing them a Dinosaur themed party. Better yet, you can make this dinosaur party a scavenger hunt by having the kids go out and dig for candy or toys!

Make sure you have the proper supplies for your dinosaur party. That means lots of tablecloths, paper plates, napkins and plastic utensils for eating off of. You’ll find that just these supplies add to the festive atmosphere quite a bit.

Next, rather than giving the kid’s party favors when they arrive take these prizes and mix them into a sand box. If you are concerned about keeping prizes sanitary or want to give candy but are concerned about sand getting into the wrapping you can place the prizes into small plastic baggies to keep them clean and protected.

Be certain to have enough on hand for everyone to get a baggie of prizes. You can ensure that the kids each get their fair share by limiting them to digging up one or two baggies of prizes. Then once they reach their limit they step out of the sand box or ‘dig site’ and go enjoy some other fun stuff at the party.

Sometimes the occasional child will go through the sandbox again and again but to no avail. Usually this means that there aren’t anymore prizes in the box. Maybe you miscounted, maybe someone brought an extra child or maybe even one of the kids decided to take more than their fair share. Whatever the case you’ll need to keep a few extra bags of treats back so you can add them to an empty ‘dig site’ if that does happen.

Making up a fun dinosaur prize dig for the kids at your party can be a great way for them to pass the time.
