Betty Boop Fun for the Kids!

Monday, April 16, 2007

Lots of people choose to throw a Betty Boop Party for an adult party, but you can certainly use this classic cartoon character to create a fun party for the kids, especially if they love classic cartoons.

You’ll be able to find plenty of Betty Boop party supplies to help make your party classic. Since Betty Boop was created during the black and white era of cartoons you can use this same monochromatic theme in your decorations. Make use of black streamers, white tablecloths, and of course grey balloons. Of course you’ll probably be able to find some Betty Boop themed paper supplies, such as tablecloths so look for those before you move to using the monochromatic theme.

The kids will love it if you manage to find some Betty Boop themed party favors like stickers, pencils and temporary tattoos, but you can also look into some more unusual items like fun feather boas, glittered hats and sunglasses.

To entertain everybody play some Betty Boop cartoons in the background and start up a fun card game. After all Betty came from the era of guys and dolls. You can make this age appropriate by playing something simple like Go Fish or Rummy and then give prizes to the winning teams.

Prizes can be anything but I suggest some candy. They are easy to play with and the individually wrapped pieces make good ‘betting chips’ for the kids to use.

Add a little extra decorative accent to the party by bringing in some fun inflatable instruments. Some of the earlier Betty Boop cartoons were mostly covered with music so you can use inflatable guitars and simple drums and tambourines in the party area to get that element of the Betty Boop cartoon into play. You can even find mini tambourines and maracas to give to the kids as party favors if you like.

Follow these suggestions and you are sure to have a great Betty Boop themed party for the kids. Go ahead and get planning!
